It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald Francis Wayne Simons (Gerry) on January 23, 2025, at the age of 79. He passed peacefully at North Shore Hospice, surrounded by love. 

Gerry was born in Vancouver on June 1st, 1945, and was a beloved father, grandpa, handyman, and friend to many. He is survived by his son Paul (Liz, Silas, and Theo), daughter Carolyn (Shandy, Hawken, and Saylin) and brother Richard (Linda, Carly, and Todd). Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Albert Simons. 

Gerry had a long career, starting at Capilano Trading and later owning his own business, Sea To Sea Souvenirs. He was an honorary member of the North Shore Hot Rod Club as well as the British Columbia Hot Rod Association and he dedicated many years to producing the "Walk to Bethlehem" Christmas production at West Vancouver Baptist Church. 

Gerry was always willing to lend a hand with any repair job and had a special fondness for dogs. He was a talented chef, a loving father and grandfather, and will be deeply missed. 

A Celebration of Life will be held in June, which would have been Gerry's 80th birthday – a milestone he had hoped to reach. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the BC Lung Association.
