Francis Joseph (Frank) Brickle Jr. died peacefully on the morning of February 9th, 2025 at Vancouver General Hospital.
Frank was born in 1951 in Wisconsin to Francis J. Brickle and Marion Martin-Brickle. He moved at an early age to the Bronx, and attended Fordham Preparatory School and Princeton University (music). Frank completed his doctoral work in Music under the supervision of Milton Babbitt, and continued to compose for his entire life. Frank worked for 25 years at the Institute for Defense Analyses in Princeton, and spent much of his life engaged in radio-related activities and playing competitive golf, with a scratch handicap.
Frank is pre-deceased by his wife Sandra R. Leiblum, and survived by his many close friends, who were so fortunate to have been able to enjoy his wit and enjoyable nature. He will be missed by so many, but his music will surely continue to be enjoyed and appreciated by his following.

So funny, so brilliant, so generous spirited. I am forever grateful for the time we had together, for his friendship, his wonderful eye for art, his sharp criticism and excellent praise. I’ll miss him for the rest of my life.

Frank was a man of remarkable talents and varied interests with a keen curiosity about humankind. He expressed this through his music and through friendships that brought vitality and solace to many.
I will miss his unique way of understanding life and its problems. In a few words he was able to bring clarity to confusion and comfort to distress.
