It is with great sadness that the family of Captain Angus Ingram (Retired) announce his passing in Vancouver, British Columbia, on February 10, 2025.

Angus was born on January 19, 1932, in rural Alberta just outside of Edmonton and lived on his family farm with his parents, Herbert and Hilda, and brothers Herb, Maurice and Dave. From an early age, he had a deep curiosity of the world around him; never satisfied with simple explanations, he would research to know how things worked. This thirst for knowledge eventually turned to the sky, and at age 22, he became a commercial airline pilot, first with Trans-Canada Air Lines and then with Air Canada until his retirement 37 years later.

Based in Montreal early in his career, he lived with his wife, Sheila, and two sons, Kent and Mark, in Île Perrot before moving to the Greater Vancouver area in 1972. Residing in Tsawwassen, Richmond, Vancouver and Whistler, Angus made fast friends with anyone willing to share a laugh and a smile. Famous for never telling the same joke twice, Angus was a force of nature with a warmth of spirit and generosity that drew people to him. His love of music was wide-ranging but he had a special fondness for Irish folk tunes, and enjoyed the occasional Scotch tipple with friends and family while recounting stories of his adventures around the world and at home.

Angus is predeceased by his parents, and brothers Herb and Maurice. He is survived by his immediate family: Sheila, Kent (Brenda), Mark (Leigh), his grandchildren, Zack, Teagan, and Holly, and step-grandchildren, Braydon and Paige. He is also survived by his brother Dave (Doris), and many Edmonton-area nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your charity of choice.

Uncle Angus was a man of incredible wit, wisdom, and adventure. He was not just an uncle, but a storyteller, a traveler, and a lifelong seeker of knowledge. With his great sense of humor and twinkle in his eye, he could light up any room with a well-timed joke—usually over a beer or two, or a tasty drink of rum.
We always looked forward to his annual visit in September. Those cherished reunions were filled with laughter, great conversation, and memories of old times—times we will now hold even closer to our hearts - never to be forgotten.
During any conversations with Uncle Angus, you’d quickly realize—he truly knew something about everything. It was always an interesting discussion and you always learned something new about world events, or precious details about the family history of the Ingram family growing up and making their way in the world. Uncle Angus was also always genuinely interested in your own personal life, well-being, along with all the members of your extended family.
Uncle Angus was a proud and humble man who lived a full life that many would envy. We will dearly miss his bold, expressive voice and cheerful laugh. His spirit will live on in the tales he told, the wisdom he shared, and the laughter he brought to us all.

Angus was one of the brightest souls I ever came across , never failing to put a smile on my face and make me laugh with his jokes and stories. My family and I will miss him deeply, he was a kind man whose presence always lit up the room and never failed to brighten up our days. His charisma was unmatched along with his story telling skills. I always admired the bond and friendship Angus Ingram and my grandfather Douglas Robinson had and will always hope to one day have a brotherhood as strong as they did. Rest in peace Angus gone but never forgotten and will always be remembered as the great man he was. My deepest condolences to the Ingram family, Angus will always live on in our hearts and memories - Douglas Robinson & The O’Connell family
