What to Consider When Pricing a Vancouver Cremation
With traditional funeral homes, planning a cremation can be an expensive endeavor with many options included that you may not want or need. The mission of Care and Comfort Cremations is to ease the financial burden for those who just want the basics but who may still want to customize the experience in some way. In this blog, we will look at the different fees that make up the cost of cremation.
Funeral Director Fees
These fees cover the cost of making cremation arrangements with a licensed funeral director. Traditional funeral homes will conduct in-person arrangements. At Care and Comfort Cremations we perform our funeral arrangements over the phone to keep our costs lows. For those who prefer the personal touch, in-person arrangements are still available for an additional fee.
Transfer Fees
Transfer fees cover the cost of transferring your deceased loved one from the place of death to our sheltering facility. Transportation prices usually, but not always, include the cost of sheltering the deceased until the cremation occurs.
Many funeral providers, ourselves included, have a basic fee for transfer from a hospital but will charge a little more for transfers from a residence or hospice because those transfers have to take place immediately. Other additional fees will apply for transfers outside of our normal service area of Horseshoe Bay to Abbotsford (although we still service as far as Hope to the east and Squamish to the north).
Cremation Fee
This fee covers the cost of the cremation as well as a simple cremation casket and a temporary urn.
Optional Services
We offer additional services that can be added to our basic cremation packages. At Care and Comfort Cremations, these additional services include Dressing, Embalming, Visitation, and many more to customize how you want to say goodbye to your loved one.
