Understanding Your Options – A Guide to Affordable Cremations in Vancouver

At Care and Comfort Cremations we offer a basic, no frills cremation service to the residents of Vancouver and the greater Vancouver Area. This service offers a direct cremation for those that want a simple cremation but if you wish to have more than a direct cremation arrangement made, we offer a number of options to satisfy ones needs. In today’s blog we will be going over some common options that are available to add to our basic cremation package. 

Caskets

The standard package that we offer includes a wood and cardboard cremation tray valued at $195 that is enough to have the cremation done but if that seems too simple, we also offer a full range of caskets in a variety of styles. From simple wooden cremation container valued at $395 to caskets valued at $895 and up, we have options to fit all needs and budgets. 

Urns

Similar options are available for urns with the basic package including an urn valued at $20 but with a full range of urns and scattering cylinders available. Some notable options include the beautiful carved rosewood urn valued at $195 or the Cloisonne Essence Azure urn which comes in a brilliant blue valued at $895. Keepsake urns are also available starting at $95. With these and many other urn options available we are sure to have a container that meets both your budgetary and aesthetic needs. 

Viewings

At Care and Comfort Cremations we do not offer pre cremation viewings or cremation witnessing as part of our basic package, however both options are available as additions to the basic package. The viewing option allows for up to 20 people to visit with the decedent for up to 30 minutes and includes washing, dressing and light cosmetics or a simple ID Verification of the decedent for 10 minutes for 1 0rr 2 people. The witness cremation start option allows for up to 10 family members to be present for the start of the cremation process, even allowing a loved one to begin the process. Another option that can be included to enhance viewings are our variety of flower options and our dressing and embalming services. These options allow you to customize our simple cremation service to fit your needs. 

Additional Options

Additional options that may be included with simple cremation packages are death certificates, DNA sampling, the scattering of ashes, locks of hair and fingerprint scans. We also offer a variety of options to receive the cremains as well as shipping the cremains. Our transfer area is from Squamish to Hope
