The basic cremation package at Care and Comfort Cremations is priced at $995.00 and includes cremation arrangements by phone or by a Zoom conference, transportation of your loved one to our sheltering facility, registration of death, a fee for the cremation, a cremation tray valued at $195, a plastic urn valued at $20 and a tribute posted in the tribute section on our website. We are able to maintain affordability by offering a “direct cremation” rather than packaging our cremation services with a funeral services. Because we don’t need to maintain the facilities and staff of a full funeral home we are able to pass those savings on to the consumer. While the basic cremation package is no frills we do offer additional services for those who want them. From having a viewing to a selection of caskets and urns, we let you pick and choose what is best for you. Following the cremation we also offer free shipping, by CanadaPost Express, of the cremated remains within our service area or you can visit our office or the crematorium in order to receive them.
There are some considerations to keep in mind with our services. For example the removal of pacemakers requires an additional fee, as does the cremation of individuals over 250lbs. A death certificate will be required when dealing with banks, government agencies, and insurance companies so it is important to receive one. Government currently charges $27.00 for each original requested.

Growing up in this farming community instilled in Ian the principle of caring, looking out for your neighbour and always offering a helping hand. Ian began his career in funeral service in Moosomin, Saskatchewan in May 1978. After a few years he moved to Regina where he met his wife Greta. Ian has spent the last 35 years serving families in Lower Mainland. His calming approach in serving families places them at ease and his sensitivity in serving them is appreciated. He is a past board member of the BC Funeral Service Association, having served 7 years. He is active in Rotary serving as club president in 2020, his faith community and readily volunteers as needed.
